Recurring Class
Give your little one extra confidence to move, groove, and speak! Level 1 classes allow young toddlers to explore new movements, objects, and words, while learning basic music concepts. Families also discover how to create better daily routines with music.
Sibling and family discounts may apply; contact us for details. Mask requirements are subject to local health department recommendations and requirements of the facilities where we hold classes. Please review our current COVID-19 Policies Page for up-to-date information. Our monthly tuition is 1/9th of the total for the school year providing a consistent, budget-friendly amount, and will not reflect a specific number of classes in any given month. Tuition is prorated from the day you enroll, so you’ll never pay for classes that have already occurred. Contact us with any questions.
Kindermusik Level 1
Kindermusik Level 1 classes give young toddlers room to explore! This special group experience gives toddlers a chance to learn new movement and language skills through dance, creative movement, echo songs, and more.
- Body Awareness
As toddlers move in different ways, they begin to understand their own bodies and develop self-control of movement. - Gross- and Fine-Motor Skills
Toddlers begin to develop basic gross-motor skills and coordination, as well as better control over fine-motor movement. - Math and Language Fundamentals
Toddlers begin to recognize patterns in music and have an increased sense of steady beat, both skills linked to math and language.
Amy Pennington
You could say that Amy Pennington was destined for a career in music. At just one week of age, Amy's great-grandmother took her tiny hand and said, "This child will play the piano." A graduate of the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, Miss Amy founded InJoy Music in 2003 and offers a bright future for children through Kindermusik classes and Simply Music piano instruction. Her studio has maintained Kindermusik Top Program status since its third year, and is thrilled to be among the top 1% of Kindermusik studios worldwide. In previous years, Amy proudly represented over 5000 educators as the Communications Advisor for the Partnership of Kindermusik Educators, and served as a Business Mentor for new Kindermusik educators. She is featured in dozens of curriculum training videos for Kindermusik International, and piloted Kindermusik's Level 1 curriculum. She has been teaching piano for over 20 years and is a former officer of the Kansas City Music Teachers Association. Amy and her husband Aaron have been married since 2004 and have a son, Aidan. They enjoy traveling to different major league ballparks around the country and comparing the quality of nachos at each location.
