Introduction to piano or other instrument lessons
Kindermusik Musicians Year 1 classes provide children with a strong foundation of music skills in an engaging group learning environment. Through movement activities, games, stories, and ensemble play, they learn how to read and compose with music notation, play individually and within ensembles on a variety of instruments (like the glockenspiel!), experience multiple music genres, and much more! Self-confidence, teamwork, and fine and gross motor skillss, are just some of the developmental areas a Kindermusik Musicians Year 1 experience propels.
Included in your enrollment fee is access to the Kindermusik App with play-alongs at home. Your child will have a take home page at each class with instructions on how to use the materials in their instrument kit and the app to continue the learning at home.
Digital albums, narrated e-books, and more are available on our password-protected family platform, accessible via desktop, tablet, or mobile devices.

Jill Hockemeyer
Jill Hockemeyer is the founder of Joyful Musicians, teaching Kindermusik classes to babies through early elementary school children. Jill has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University. She is the mother of four children, all of whom were enrolled in Kindermusik classes as young children. Jill has spent most of her time raising children and volunteering at their schools, but has also taught preschool classes and computer classes to elementary children.
