Through instruction, songs and engaging games, you will learn over 100 signs in ASL (American Sign Language) to use with your baby. We'll cover things like everyday words, food, family, animals, emotions, opposites, bedtime and play signs.
Classes are 30 mins long with the group. Then your instructor will be around for an extra 15 mins for anyone who wants to come and privately ask for sign clarifications, how to incorporate signs into their own specific daily routines, etc. Some parents aren't comfortable with asking questions in group settings, so we want to make sure everyone's questions get answered in an environment they'll openly ask them in. Also, each week, parents can request specific signs they'd like to learn that aren't covered in the class material. 😊Class dates include October 6, 13, & 20, November 3, 10, 17 & 24 and December 1. Tuition also includes digital class music and a My Smart Hands Level 1 sign reference ebook that are yours to keep, as well as unlimited make-ups in other classes (in case life ends up 'life-ing') while enrolled.
For almost 15 years, Miss Rosie has taught music, American Sign Language and English as a second language both online and in-person to over 1000 families. Musically, she started out as a classically trained vocalist, and went on to pursue both Jazz and Broadway styles later on. In addition, Miss Rosie is a licensed Kindermusik educator, licensed My Smart Hands instructor, licensed KeyNotes Music instructor, and Multiply Music Program curriculum developer. She has also taught English as a second language and is working toward her TESOL certification. Early in her career, Rosie attended the Canadian College of Performing Arts, a triple threat singing/dancing/acting program located in Victoria, BC. Since then, she has performed professionally in online and in-person musicals, plays and private Jazz house concerts across Canada. In addition to her love of music and teaching, Rosie is the creator of Chronic Oasis: an online community for humans who love and care for chronically ill family members -- chosen family included. When Rosie isn't teaching, performing or working to better Chronic Oasis, you'll often find her relaxing at home with a book, a cup of Dark French Roast coffee and her 21 year old cat Eric. Rosie resides in central Canada.
